Painting, inside and out
Painting and decorating for apartments, houses, shops and offices. What separates a good job is not the colour, it is the lines: where the wall stops and the ceiling starts, how the cut runs around window frames, whether the skirting has a clean edge.
Inside, we work with the furniture and floors covered from the start. The wall is filled and sanded, then primed, then the coats go on. In places that receive the public, such as clinics, offices and shops, we use low-odour paints so you can open the next morning. The work can be staged room by room or floor by floor, or done outside working hours.
Refreshing a property is its own kind of job. A place that is being let or sold does not always need a full redecoration. It needs clean walls, the knocks made good, and a handover on a fixed date, so you can book the next tenant or the buyer in with confidence.
Outside, the issue is the Cypriot sun and, near the coast, the salt. Facades, balconies and light wells need paint that stands up to UV, otherwise light colours fade and dark ones go grey. On metal we never paint over rust: sanding back to sound material, an anti-rust primer, then enamel.
On timber, meaning doors, windows, pergolas, decking and fitted wardrobes, the preparation is different from a wall. The old varnish comes off, the surface is sanded, and a product goes on that lets the wood move. Seal it shut and it will split in the first summer.
